Cobham River Lodge
Fishing Report – June 29, 2019

Captured the bond between angler and nature in this Northern Pike Photo
Northern Pike fishing at Cobham River Lodge this week has been excellent!

The Northwest winds are bringing us sunshine and breezy afternoons. Most boats have been fishing the inner lakes area. This has allowed them to not only avoid the winds, but also to enjoy some fantastic pike fishing action. “The Straits”, as we call it, has produced the majority of our pike lately and guests are seeing the size average climb up quite a bit as well.

I was out at shore lunch today enjoying a fish taco and even better than that fish taco was listening to our guests’ banter with one another on whose pike was bigger. This morning 4 pike were release over 106cm (42 inches) with 116cm (46 inches) topping the morning fishing. Nice start to the last day of fishing for this group of guests.

As the summer progresses, I am noticing the size average increase over the last few weeks, which is very optimistic. Weather is great, the bays are filling in nicely, and everyone is coming back to the dock grinning ear-to-ear. You really can’t ask for a whole lot more than that!
So with that, I welcome all of our first time guests and look forward to re-uniting with some old friends from seasons gone by.

I really can’t wait to meet you all as we move through the 2019 season.

Until then, Tight lines and take care!
