The day before your Canada fishing trip begins, you must arrive in Winnipeg or Bissett, Manitoba (depending on your departure air base) one day before your Cobham River Lodge departure date.
Travel to Canada by air (Silver Falls seaplane base departure):
Guests travel to Canada by air and depart to Cobham River Lodge from Silver Falls; we recommend you stay at The Grand Winnipeg Airport Hotel while in Winnipeg. The Grand Winnipeg airport hotel is 167 steps from the Winnipeg International Airport (YWG) main terminal doors. Guests not only find the Winnipeg Grand convenient, but full-on hotel amenities like in-room iPad, Keurig Coffee maker, Free WIFI, onsite restaurant, and lounge.
The following day you will depart The Grand Winnipeg airport hotel around 5 AM for a quick 30-minute (27 KM) shuttle ride to St Andrews airport, where your amphibian Cessna caravan awaits your departure for Cobham River Lodge.
Travel to Canada by air (Bissett seaplane base departure):
Guests traveling to Canada by air and departing to Cobham River Lodge from Bissett must secure a rental car before arriving in Winnipeg. All major rental car companies are available at the Winnipeg International Airport, and several transportation companies provide service from Winnipeg International Airport to Bissett, Manitoba. We recommend the car rental option once you arrive in Winnipeg, as the car rental allows you to enjoy Winnipeg and stop at your leisure as you make your way to Bissett, Manitoba.
Bissett hotel options are limited. Pine Falls, Manitoba, offers the Papertown Inn, which is a 1-hour 15-minute drive (118 KM) to the Bissett seaplane base. If you seek even more action the night before your Bissett departure, South Beach Hotel and Casino is also a favorite of past Cobham River Lodge guests. South Beach Hotel and Casino is a 2-hour drive (165 KM) to the Bissett seaplane base.
